Earlier this summer, my wife and I decided that our daughter needed to start daycare. It was a tough decision, given COVID, but we ultimately made the choice to enroll her. Our daughter (about 1.5 at the time) was becoming a lot to manage at home, especially since both of us had been working from home full time.
We started looking at providers in the area, which licenses are required, safety protocols and ultimately decided to go with 4 Kids Family Daycare, owned and operated by Linda. There were a few things that stood out immediately. First and foremost, Linda has an open door policy. This means that as parents, we can stop by at any time to check up or check in on our daughter. This demonstrates transparency and openness, which was at the top of our list of things we wanted. Second, Linda has been doing this for over 30 years. Her experience shows in every element of her business: schedules, rules, safety, activities... even the way she has her house and furniture set up. Finally, we really enjoyed that 4 Kids Family Daycare is a smaller business. COVID concerns aside, we know each family, each child and that each child gets a lot of attention and oversight from Linda throughout the day. In fact, my wife and I get several pictures, videos or text messages from Linda each day just to let us know that everything is going well and that our daughter is having fun. They are really fun to receive during the day.
Since she started, our daughter has grown up and matured a lot. I know that she's still only 2 years old and a lot of what we see now is a natural extension of that, but all of the things that she's exposed to at 4 Kids Family Daycare have really helped her flourish. She's a lot more social now. She gets a lot of practice with using her utensils during breakfast and lunch. She's regularly read to during the day (instead of only at night before bed). She understands the importance (or at least the ritual) of cleaning up after playing. Plus, she has friends now! She's always excited to see the other kids every morning and she genuinely looks forward to going to daycare.
All in all, our daughter, my wife and I are all so happy that we went with 4 Kids Family Daycare. Linda is nothing short of amazing and we could not be happier with choosing her!
