The process to book a unit online was super simple and easy. While I was chatting with the online help feature, a customer service rep called me to see if I had any questions or need any help completing my rental. I appreciated that, and everyone I’ve interacted with has also been friendly and professional.
The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and feels very secure. The two people working at the front desk and maybe a security were incredibly helpful and kind and getting me set up on my first day. I appreciated the time and attention that they took to help me get acclimated.
The only downside, and it does feel like a pretty big one for me, is that you charge for padlocks. I understand that you have a very particular type of lock for your unit doors, but I feel that should be included in the price. I own five padlocks, and did not anticipate having to pay almost $20 for one that I won’t be able to use anywhere else but at your storage facility. If I’m being honest, it feels like a way to get more money out of people, and I likely would have gone with a different storage facility had I known. In all fairness, it’s highly probable I missed that detail somewhere in the paperwork as I don’t read every word of a contract, but I don’t like companies where I feel like I need to have the attitude of buyer beware, and I do feel that way now.
Iyonna is a great member of their staff. Knowledgeable, pleasant, friendly and always has a smile. My only problem was a past chemical spill in unit 27 that was NOT properly cleaned, notified them before I moved in and was told that it had been addressed. As time went on there was a stinky smell that got stronger whenever I opened the door. DO NOT RENT UNIT 27, CAUSE THE CHEMICAL SPILL IS STILL THERE.
