( VERY LONG REVIEW, WORTH THE READ FOR THE SAFTEY & PROTECTION OF YOUR CHILD!!!" ) Please read!
My 7 year old daughter goes into her dance class, for her first day. About 10-15 minutes into the class she came running out to me crying. So I was definitely worried! The teacher Mrs, Linda came out saying very aggressively " We don't just walk out of dance class!" ZERO concern for my daughters feelings. ... I'm sorry but if a CHILD is feeling uncomfortable in the slightest .. specially on a " first day" I would sure hope they go to a parent if they felt they needed the comfort. I asked my daughter what happened? She told me the teacher gave everyone else a bracelet, and not me.. I walk my daughter up to the door and she walks back in. I ask the younger teacher what happened? Her response was " I have no idea" ... Hmmm ok! So I ask "Linda" Her response was also .. " I don't know, but we don't just walk out of dance class" I told her my daughter walked out because she was upset , and mentioned something about a bracelet, and she didn't get one? So she might be feeling left out and feelings hurt? Linda responded by telling me.. Yea I am passing out bracelets.. BUT NOT TO EVERYONE! After this I am watching my daughter threw that window like a hawk. Linda would go up to my daughter to redirect her very aggressively .. After the class Linda went on to ask me.. " what is it I am going against here " ( talking about my daughter ) and I honestly have no idea what she is talking about. After the bracelet incident my daughter did warm up and was having fun with the other girls.. I saw them being silly and having fun... besides the fact that Linda was being forceful towards her in doing certain dance moves.. Talking to Linda I mentioned my daughter was definitely thrown off by the bracelet incident. Linda looked at me and said.. I didn't give everyone a bracelet. And the OTHER girls who didn't get one didn't act that way! ( saying this in front of my daughter ) Mind you.. my daughter didn't throw a tantrum, stomp her feet around.. She was just SAD.. and hesitant towards Linda. Linda went on to say my daughter was acting "mad" and wouldn't look at her in the face which was " worrying her" She goes on to say she's been teaching dance for 20 years and never has she dealt with a child like mine ( her words ) She met my daughter only 1 time and was implying that something was wrong with her... Asking me what is it she is facing with my daughter? The answer is my child has a terrible intuition about you! For good reasons... My daughter is honestly the sweetest, and most loving girl, she makes friends easily! It doesn't matter if you have been " teaching dance for 20 year " You will never have the authority, or the right the handle a child as you please, and pin point a child out as a problem if they aren't feeling safe with you right away. I burst into tears. This lady is standing here in front of me AND MY DAUGHTER ... as she is profiling her. Here I am grown women and I cannot even hold back my tears. I just felt so degraded by Linda, and as I am speaking with the lady up front who is working on my refund .. Linda walks in the door bumping me on my shoulder with her shoulder. Typical bully behavior! Then she stands there with her arms crossed just looking at me as I have tears coming down my face...feeling downright degraded from the whole experience. I told her I would be leaving a review. Her response was.. " IT DON'T MATTER" If " it don't matter" then why does she write paragraphs of responses to every ONE STAR review? I thought it didn't matter? Lol Please be informed that Linda picks favorites, Some of your girls are coming home feeling not good enough had they not received a "bracelet " or whatever else she passes out to the CHOSEN students. Dance should build confidence! Not make kids feel unworthy! Linda is right , some kids aren't like my daughter.. and don't speak up! But my daughter tells me everything! So that clearly made Linda insecure. Not a safe space for your babies!
First and Foremost
This dance studio has no business ethics, communication, so much more could be said there is always going to be criticism, parents will talk about your business all the time. the only fix your business as an owner starts with you realizing and stopping the negative parents coming to you about another parent allowing them to talk. apparently as the owner it seems to me that you like gossip.
She kicked my daughter out of the dance studio due to comments from other parents and i believe also has to do with her ethnicity.
