WORST EXPERIENCE WITH AN AUTO SHOP EVER!!! Horrible communication. Somehow I randomly got a hole in my coolant line to the tune of $3000 and my car having to sit there for over a WEEK for a part. I had never leaked ANY coolant until it came here. Funny how they tried to get me to fix a timing issue $3500 and when I said no the VERY NEXT DAY I have this horrible coolant leak that nothing can be done for until the part comes. I took my car in for an AC issue which Nelsen's quoted me $700 to fix (stupid me for not jumping on that at the time) and a master window switch. I am now being told my bill is going to be over $4000!!!!!! No communication as to how long my car would be there until my husband had to physical go into the shop and ask WTH was going on. Now I am out an additional $500 for a rental car because I have to work. RUN AS FAST AS U CAN FROM THIS PLACE.... SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!
UPDATE: Took my car to a reputable shop for a second opinion with the estimates given by AAMCO to find out I was being charged almost DOUBLE the price for parts!!! The estimate I have from the second opinion is $1500 for the coolant repair. Please tell me how I was NOT being scammed!?!?!??
Been here a few times in the last 30 plus years without complaint. Sadly this visit was very disappointing to say the least. I stopped and talked with the manager and asked about the warranty because i am restoring a 1978 chevy and felt the restore would take longer than the warranty period. Was told it was possible to work with me if needed. So i brought the transmission and transfer case in. My request was clear make them both as new. I gave no time line and left budget question un discussed due to the age of the parts sand unknown conditions. Was called approx 3-4 weeks later to pick them up. Upon arrival talked to John and asked about the transfer case wear and condition? Was told it had some play but was good to go. While we were loading them I asked the mechanic the same questions and was told it was not good!!! The mechanic showed me pictures and explained it all. Why in the world would Aamco send that out to me in not good condition? The only conclusion that makes sense is it would not be warranted and could charge me again later. I am grateful the mechanic is honest and shared his concerns with me. As a saving grace for Aamco when i picked it up today they did not charge me for the additional labor. But again why send out inferior work? At this point i am not sure i can trust this shop again.
Adding to this review, would like to say Chris did a great job in listening to my review and called me directly to hear the problem. We discussed it and he committed to resolving the issue and standing by his promise. I returned the parts to the shop and they made it right. Not sure about any one else but this seems rare with alot of businesses. Thank you Aamco and Chris for making this right
