I grew up in the area, and Abby's was the place where I would have my end-of-the-year soccer and baseball parties.
So, the last time I was here, was in 2003. I had since moved away from Oregon, and this was my first time back in over 20 years.
The food was a little bland. No spices detected in the sauce or the sausage. I was a little shocked to see the salad bar gone, but I suspect it was removed during COVID. I always enjoyed a nice salad, of my selection, with my pizza.
The service was great. Fast and friendly.
Quite honestly, I was surprised to see the place still open, and in the same location, after all of these years. Overall, slightly above average, but certainly not the best pizza I've had in recent months.
It looks like the owners read the reviews: Your pizzas are on the cusp of being tasteless. Add a little Italian seasoning to the sauce, and find a better quality sausage. During my 2003 visit, I distinctly remember the sausage having fennel seeds. This is key for a good Italian sausage on a pizza. This last trip, the sausage had very little taste.
Never a bad experience with our neighborhood Abbys. Food, service and the restaurant have always been excellent. Take out orders to in house dining, Abbys is the place to go for pizza!
Also, I love the sign out front during the holidays. Rare to find a place that wishes everyone a Merry Christmas
