Sometimes optimizing a space, particularly in the wake of a life change such as a downsize or say hypothetically a global pandemic (lol) is just too much for one person to think through alone. Having downsized significantly expecting my household to be a family of two and having it temporarily turn into family of five made me think about how to utilize my space wisely and determine where to invest in improvements. I’m very grateful for the service Helen provided and would highly recommend.

After five years of trying to design it out ourselves, and working with other contractors, a friend recommended we reach out to Helen at Abode. It was the best decision we could have made to move our home renovation project forward. She is thoughtful, smart, patient, and keeps up a regular line of communication. We are renovating an old kitchen and two bathrooms in a house built in 1912. She helped sort out space planning, provided clear drawings, created mood boards, sourced bids from contractors, and handed over documentation so we could order everything we needed ourselves. Construction starts next week and we would have never gotten this far without her. She has no agendas other than helping you design the space you want to live in. Highly recommended!

Helen is, in a word, superb. I've completed one project with her and have two more in process, so I know how she works/thinks. Her design instinct and taste are excellent, but she is also adept at taking this client's ideas into account and making the overall design better because of it. She is thorough and professional, and also engaging and fun to work with. I am happy to endorse Helen's design skills here and recommend her without hesitation or reservation.
