I went to this recruiter while I had a part-time (stable) job, looking for entry opportunities to get into a new company. My recruiter helped me find a job relatively quickly, and said it would be a 90 day contract with the possibility of being hired full-time after my contract was up. This was a great opportunity and exactly what I was looking for.
Except, the company I was contracted to work for only needed me for less than 2 weeks, and they said they made that very clear to Aerotek. They didn’t explicitly tell me that when I started working for the company, but they did make it seem like there wasn’t a lot of work to do. Now I’m out of a job due to Aerotek not being honest in their hiring process. I feel I was lied to about the terms of my contract by being told it was for a set amount of time with the potential for full-time work. Aerotek also kept pressuring me into leaving my old job before my full 2 weeks were up. That could have been an extra paycheck for me, and it’s clear the company didn’t need me to start immediately due to the lack of work they had for me. When I contacted Tal about them not needing me after only a week and a half, even he was slightly surprised, but came back and said that they could end the contract for any reason — including not having work for me.
Be very careful about signing a contract with this company. Their wording is extremely vague and provides no guarantees in terms of the actual time you will work, nor the length the contract will actually be. Instead they sign you up for a “maximum” term in your contract of a set number of days that you could possibly work.
