Back in 2017, I opted in for vision insurance through my employer, and Madonna Dailey was our Aflac representative/insurance agent.
Due to the nominal benefit cost and the convenience of having the fee withdrawn from our pay period check automatically, I thought getting this insurance was a no-brainer. However, I was entirely mistaken, and unfortunately, to this day, I regret that decision year after year.
In the six years of having Aflac vision insurance, it has become increasingly apparent that their one, two, and three-year benefits are confusing and almost not worth the return unless you opt for a two or three-year option. Every year when I've reached out to Madonna to redeem my benefits, she has always been reluctant and ambiguous in explaining the benefits I could redeem, and I never get a straight answer on the amounts I can reimburse.
Recently, Madonna made the mistake of not updating my policy to add my spouse, even though I explicitly submitted the paperwork and followed up with her. Because of this, Aflac only reimbursed a portion of my benefits, and when I noted this to Madonna, she blamed Aflac for not updating the policy in their system. I understood that mistakes can happen, and all I asked was for her to update the policy so I can be reimbursed for the hundreds of dollars still owed to me.
It has been about six months, and I still have not received all of my reimbursements. Although I have reached out to Madonna countless times, she does not respond to my emails and requests.
The way this has been handled is entirely unprofessional, and I do not recommend anyone get insurance, most likely of any kind, if this is the kind of service expected and experienced. She even went to the lengths of blaming her lack of service on personal problems with family and still did nothing to resolve the issues she created.
I would rate this service 0/5 stars and would never recommend it.
I will be canceling my policy in the coming days and taking my business elsewhere.
