Just for the sake of history, I would like to say I helped install a good portion of this campground, as well as other sites up middle and north fork, while doing the job of my lifetime as a young man on fire crew at the Ahtanum fire crew site next door. This was what we did between fires, which in those days were fairly infrequent most summers (my stint was 1966-72). We had a 15 man crew that traveled and a 5 man crew that stayed. Sadly lost touch with my fellow crew members over the years, but the memories are vivid. A visit back in 2004 revealed the creep of climate change as the vegetation became more sparse, especially higher up. But this is a quiet and beautiful niche only 30 mins west of Yakima and Union Gap and worth a Sunday drive an picnic any time the weather is good. Enjoy!

My family would rate this a 5 star if they would fix the water that is our only complaint but won't stop us from camping there. We absolutely love camping up there. Have made so many family memories there.
