Such a cool learning experience! A must for any Alameda resident, and absolutely a highlight for any WWII or flight aficionados. The work the volunteers put into preserving this important history and teaching visitors is evident. Go check it out!!

Definitely worth a visit. The museum is ran by a group of volunteers, who were quite knowledgeable and very nice. Has 3 floors and a large collection of model airplanes, aircraft carriers and memorabilia donated from people who used to work at the base.
In close distance as well to the USS Hornet.

I get that a lot of locals have significant sympathy for this museum and its vet volunteers but it is, at best, an inconsistent hodge-podge of small displays and a big model train diorama on the 3rd floor. One will not, for instance, find any airplanes here. Out-of-towners with limited time will find the nearby USS Hornet much more rewarding.
