I met with a case worker after moving to this location from northern California. A little over a month ago, I broke my ankle and was out of work for several weeks. I came to this office to transfer my health insurance andu case worker told me that he was putting in a request to transfer my Cal Viva insurance from up North. Told me I'd receive my paperwork and insurance card in 7-10 business days. I called the office today because it's now been over 3 weeks and I still cannot go see a doctor because they don't accept my insurance out here. They tell me a request to transfer my insurance was never made, and that I now have to call the state myself to have it transferred and that it will take up to 60 days. I cannot believe the incompetence of this case worker. I won't name him, but this is absolutely rediculous. Had he told me 3 weeks ago that I needed to call myself, I'd have done so then. Now I have to wait another 2 months to get physical therapy and a sign off so I get back to work unless I want to pay out of pocket, which is out of the question because I can't afford it. I plan to file a formal complaint and hope that disciplinary action is taken, because no one should have to deal with this moron. I don't know if it's laziness or he's just an idiot, but lying to my face and telling me he was putting in the request when he clearly did not is absolutely unacceptable.
