Two stars because the hygienist and Dr. Elloway were nice. BUT this was an overall terrible experience for me and my almost two year old.
It was my little girl’s first dentist appointment. It was made nearly 6 months ago. We had the first appointment of the day at 9 am. I did not see the dentist until 1030. I even showed up early to ensure I could do paperwork. This did not help as the doors to their dilapidated Victorian office open at 9.
Anyone with a small child knows how missing naps can mess up a day and that’s what happened. This combined with juggling work and a pregnant wife who was sick at urgent care made for a challenging day to say the least (wife and new baby turned out okay!).
This experience did not have to be so bad. Poor organization on the part of the office (why not mail people their first visit paperwork?) led to excuses by Dr. Elloway (I would have gotten you in but you were doing paperwork). Then lack of consideration by the dentist and poor prioritization led to an apology for making me and my baby girl wait a ridiculous amount of time.
Dr. Elloway seems like a kind person, but they are bad at the aforementioned skills. Dr. Elloway might even be a great dentist but I may never learn that as I am looking for a new spot for my daughter. My experience was awful.
