Easy out-and-back that’s paved for both walkers/runners and cyclists. Parking is free and located past the driving range parking lot. The trail is about 3 miles from end to end. There were a few alternate paths you could take that were made of compact dirt, but the path is primarily asphalt.
The trail meanders around the reservoir, and we did notice that there were some cyclist paths on the other side of where we were. There are a few benches if you needed to sit and small spaces for exercisers. There’s apparently an app you could use as part of the fitness trail. Bathrooms are available at both ends of the trail, and were very clean.
There was a good amount of people, but it wasn’t as crowded as I was expecting. This is a good path for families and small kids/babies in strollers could be taken on the trail. Overall, a very easy way to take a leisurely walk/easy run and get some sunshine.
A paved, nicely designed and manicured 3-mile trail running parallel to the Santa Ana River. Or what was the Santa Ana River; it’s dried up now, in this area, apart from a couple of ponds along the edge. It was quite warm the two days I walked it, but cool enough if you got there mid morning. Not at all crowded.
