(Full disclosure: I made this profile. Ms. Senderov is a sweet lady and an excellent piano teacher, but not very tech savvy. So I volunteered to help her.)
I took weekly private piano lessons from Ms. Senderov for 7 years before and during high school. In that time, I performed in many recitals, attended piano competitions, got into college in part due to my piano audition, and ultimately developed a love for classical music.
In my opinion, there are three things that set Ms. Senderov apart. First, she is one of few teachers that has a second piano to teach duet skills (including playing with the orchestra in concertos). Piano concertos are my favorite aspect of piano performance so it's no surprise those were my favorite lessons to attend. That leads me to the second aspect: she teaches performance artistry as well as technical skill. The former is often missing in youth piano programs leading to weaker showings on stage. Finally, she can tailor her lessons to varying levels of intensity based on interest level. For hobbyist's, her lessons were fun and exploratory. While I wasn't trying to go professional, I was hoping to play in college so my lessons were generally more focused and disciplined. Regardless, we were always allowed to choose our own music and repertoire, which helped keep interest and help develop our own piano personality.
Overall, I highly recommend Ms. Senderov Piano Lessons.
