We lost our house in the Thomas fire and had a somewhat rushed deadline to rebuild. We met with five different architects and for one reason or another we didn’t find the right fit. We had a napkin sketch that had the rough shape of what we were hoping for, but every designer wanted to build what was in their repertoire.
Then we met Andrew Goodwin. He looked at our references and considered our very basic sketch. He came back after a week with the answer. He took our rough gesture and completely reimagined it into 20’ x 20 ‘ volumes to keep construction costs within grasp.
The plans showed a simple and clean, modern expression that was sensitive to our unique topography. He listened, and offered a thoughtful design that went well beyond our expectations, And though it related to what we wanted, it was new and inspiring.
Andrew and his team followed through each stage of construction, offering solutions for every challenge that Ventura County presented.
The end result is a simple and elegant, modern home with an open floor plan that takes full advantage of the sweeping mountain and valley views. Thank you Andrew and team for our amazing home. Dave and Carol
