Write a list of the qualities you want from your ENT specialist. If "witty banter" is in the #1 spot, Dr Mester may not be your chap. If things like "skill" and "knowledge" float to the top, he's your man. I think he's very pleasant, myself, but in an "acquired sense of humour" kind of way. Luckily, on that score, I'm English and grew up thinking of Hungary (rather like Poland) as a land of eccentric genius'. You won't go wrong with Dr. Mester.

This was one of the worst and most criminal experiences with a doctor I’ve ever had in my life. The appointment took me two months to be seen, then I’m finally seen, Dr. Mester comes in spends 5 mins asking about where I grew up etc... Then hits a tuning fork, asks me where it’s louder and says we’re going to do a hearing test. I say, “that’s fine, but the reason I’m here is because of congestion.” He spoke over me and said, “no we’re going to do a hearing test, go speak to my secretary and she’ll make you another appointment.” I said, “My hearing is not what I’m here for, I’m here for congestion, I can’t pop my ears.” Again he spoke over me shaking his head just saying “hearing test” over and over again. There’s nothing else he’ll say and I’m not going to continue to argue with a doctor, so I agree to make another appoint for a hearing test. The rude secretary tells me it’s ANOTHER TWO MONTHS just to get the hearing test!! I told her I want a prescription for some nasal spray or antihistamines, but she said it’s too late. I told her “no, go ask him for a prescription” and she came back shaking her head and said “no, he said no.” This all occurred within about 5 minutes after waiting TWO MONTHS for this appointment. Dr. Mester is a criminal doctor and his office is only trying to drag out their clients appointments to make more money off of them. I spoke with other friends who had the EXACT same experiences with him. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! Dr. Mester, shame on you!

WARNING: Dr Mester was aggressive, impatient and inappropriately stern with my 17 year old daughter during our first (and only) visit to him to have her nose cauterized for nosebleeds. After an amiable introduction, he abruptly snapped and became shockingly cruel and merciless. He verbally berated her while forcefully squeezing her nose - so hard that she COULD NOT BREATHE. He was unstoppable and the violent way he held her nose as she hyperventilated, was barbaric and sickening. Not only did it hurt badly, but left her traumatized and very bruised.
UPDATE: it's now 5 days later, and her nosebleeds are worse than before and her nose/face are still yellowish from his hands. He should have his medical license revoked.
