Ashley pointe in Lake Stevens used to be a wonderful place to live. It was a happy environment, lots of activities and outings for residents. I moved my mom and dad there several years ago, my mom passed away, but my dad is still there. In January 2023 the company changed ownership and things have gone drastically downhill. The new executive Director they brought in has systematically gotten rid of all of the beloved employees that made Ashley pointe what it was and so special. It is such a depressing place to be now, I wish I could find another place for my dad. So many residents are sad and upset, the chef they hired serves the worst food you've ever seen. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. A lot of people have lost weight since they have hired the new chef. The activity Director that we had was absolutely wonderful and they brought in somebody that sits. Doesn't hardly interact with anybody. In fact, we went from having one to three outings a week on our bus to only one since mid September. We used to have six activities a day that were fun and enjoyable. Now we might have five but what they call an activity is watching the new activity Director pop popcorn. Yeah it's that bad. The prior activity, Director always celebrated the residence. Birthdays with a small balloon and a bag of candy from the dollar store. No big deal. The new executive Director stated that we don't need to do that anymore because these people won't remember anyway. Yes it's horrifying. We have contacted the state but so far we haven't had much resolve. We also have some lawyers that are interested. We didn't want to go that route or the media but we might have to and we're not afraid to. This is a vulnerable population- they need people to stand up and have their backs and fight for their rights. Like many of them fought for our freedom. We are still fighting and trying to get Ashley pointe back to be the wonderful wonderful place that it was. I will change my review if this comes back and we get things improved. But for right now please do not bring your loved one to Ashley Pointe. You will be sorry.
Update. Sadly, the caring and helpful place I moved my father into in 2021 no longer exists. Ashley Pointe, under new ownership and executive director has dramatically declined in all ways. Everything being posted recently is 100% true. The quality of food, support, atmosphere and life for our family members has reached a concerning low point. I would not recommend Ashley Pointe in its current state.
The staff here are incredibly caring and helpful. The facility is clean and comfortable. We are so grateful for the care they provide my father.
