Horrible customer service! I secured a construction loan with HomeStreet Bank in Vancouver Washington. From start to end it was the worst experience I've ever had with a bank. I'm former military and a current federal employee who is very familiar/experienced with relocations and working with banks. This bank lied about the terms of the loan, NEVER provided timely information, and didn't show any competence. I literally had to begged for the amount of my first payment, because I NEVER received a statement. I had to call their Seattle location to get quality customer service. With the exception of Lavonna Miller (superb customer service) and Kathy Smith (I believe she's a Sr. Leader), the rest of their representatives were terrible.
If you are a Veteran, I encourage you to avoid this bank. The loan officer flat out lied about the most important terms of the construction loan. When my construction period ended and it was time to transition to a Mortgage, this bank was clueless and NEVER informed me on the process. I refinanced just to work with a better lender. That cost me more than $6K, but it was well worth ending the nightmare.
