A nice campground right in the middle of things. Our site was what we expected after making reservations that same afternoon. But we had a great time. It's a short hike from camp to the General Grant Tree. Everyone should visit here. It'll make you a better person.

We stayed at site 38, and it was a terrible site. The entire thing was at a steep downward slope everywhere. Every other part of the campground was amazing and beautiful, and all the other sites looked much better. We would stay at this campground again, but never at site 38. There were quite a few trails right off the campground that we loved. The bathrooms were also quite nice. There is a nearby little town with a small museum, gift shop, and restaurant that we hiked to. We saw quite a few deer as well, which was surprising given how busy the area was. We stayed in June, and the weather was odd. It was very hot during the day, but also foggy and cold intermittently.

Many beautiful sites in here, some including ours at #106 were highly unlevel. Though it had a huge amount of space around it. Took 4 blocks on front to get close in leveling. Sites across from 106 looked to be buggy backing up to tall grass and damp area.
Did not use any facilities.
Has no electric and water but we knew that coming in. Didn’t see any dump station.
Super good location in the park as it was 1.) walking distance to Grant tree and the visitor center, and 2) right at the split where you can go to Kings Canyon or Sequoia NP…very good for efficiently seeing both parks.
Was a great choice!
