When my father started having problems with his behind the ear (BTE) hearing aids that he got for free from the VA in January 2018, we stopped by Dr. Fulmer's Ballard Speech and Hearing Center office as we were in the area and unlike other providers, he was open.
He was able to fix this issue for a nominal fee and advised him how to make the aids work better so they wouldn't need repair in the future. He also had good magazines for the driver (me) to read.
Eighteen months later, my father broke both hearing aids and came back. Dr. Fulmer called me and asked me to take the aids back to the VA as they were still under warranty instead of charging my 89-year old father $700 for the repairs. He then retested his hearing loss and loaned him a temporary replacement.
