We visited Jon's nursery for the first time this past weekend. He is very knowledgeable. If you have questions or concerns about growing bamboo in the Seattle area and would like someone to help you find the right plant for your situation, Jon would be a great resource. We purchased two beautiful borindas and a chimonobambusa tumidissinoda “Walking Stick” (that I have wanted for ages!) to take home to Bellingham.

I've bought bamboo from John 3 times over the last two years and he's been so helpful every step of the way. All of my plants are healthy despite my inexperience.
He has someone who helps drop off bamboo too, so that's very helpful for those without a truck. You can definitely fit some bendier varieties into a small sedan though. I've transported three pots of bamboo in my Elantra!

The Bamboo Collective is a beautiful bamboo garden. The owner, John, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He helped plan the planting of a major landscaping project that I undertook recently. John also made a special order of bamboo, and even provided a rough diagram for planting it. I look forward to seeing John again when I pick up my order. I think he might be just as excited about our bamboo project than we are. I look forward to sharing pictures with him as our bamboo matures into our landscaping goal.
