I had an incredible experience at Barboza a few weekends ago when I saw Friday Pilots Club with my partner, who is a BIG fan, and another couple.
Because the show was sold out over one month before, our group had sourced tickets through a third party seller, but the tickets were never delivered sob. I was fully expecting Barboza staff to refuse us entry and tell us something along the lines of "sorry, suckers, you got got!" Instead, after seeing our receipt, they kindly and generously went out of their way to get us in to see the show. HUGE thank you to Jaden (sp?) for being so understanding and considerate when it was very much not required.
We had such a wonderful time at the show. It was our first time at Barboza, and I loved the intimate setting. The booths at the back offered a great view of the stage and provided a less crowded option for introverts like myself, while those who prefer to get up close and personal with the artists can do so. Super respectful and energetic crowd, too, which reflects the quality of the band's audience as much as Barboza's inclusive atmosphere.
The sound system leaves a little to be desired, but they are doing the best they can with what they've got, and I find that endearing. Frankly, the inviting space and exceptional customer service far outweigh the imperfect sound quality.
We will most certainly be back to support this underrated staple of the Seattle music scene. THANK YOU BARBOZA <3
An incredible venue for good vibes all around. Think of Madam Lou's but OG, narrower, and smaller. Got to see my first show here a few months ago and it quickly turned into one of my all time faves.
If you have a show that piques your interest, I do recommend checking it out!
