If y'all have stuff to get rid of at the transfer station adjacent to the city's public works yard I would suggest y'all wait for the fall cleanup (usually first weekend of November). I took less than a shortbox pickup load of scrap lumber. I was charged $18.65 and I live in the city limits. Sheesh, talk about greedy!
It's obvious that Basin no longer wants to handle recycling. Cut the hours and blame it on some moron who put garbage in the bins and I guess they decided they would use the trusted old government ploy which says "A FEW HAVE ERRED, SO ALL MUST SUFFER". In grammar school that may have been an acceptable way to get the miscreant who threw the spitball to own up but this is the real world. There is no easy business and unless Basin is in danger of going out of business then you can afford to take a little of the bad with the good. Many towns are concerned enough to do a needed job for the community. I'm shocked that the Mayor and his council bought into this decline in a needed service for Prosser. This is all just my opinion but I've heard it from any number of citizens. Come on Basin, get with it and and make it easy to recycle like most other towns
