Called to schedule an appointment on referral bc my primary does not have the capability to run the necessary tests to find out what is going on and was told by their receptionist that 'We don't do any tests or throat cultures here. You need to find somewhere else to help you'. I tried to explain that I am scheduling on referral bc my primary does not have the capability for these tests but she said that this office specifically could and was told again that this office doesn't do that and I would need to find somewhere else. I clarified a third time that this office, an ENT specialist, does not have the capability to do throat cultures. She said 'yes exactly'. My doctor's office then called to try to straighten it out and explain why exactly I was referred and essentially had a back and forth argument with the same receptionist who said 'Well my office manager has been here for 20 years and has never heard of this sort of culture or test being done so it isn't something that we do.' He may very well be an excellent physician but I wouldn't know as his office would not allow me to make an appointment based off a very specific referral from my primary care doctor to his office. Atrocious front desk customer service.
