I found myself in a situation where I needed to spend an extended amount of time in Santa Cruz, and a family member suggested the Bay Front Inn. Because I travel often, I understand that online reviews can be a mixed bag, and I decided to give them a chance, especially considering their excellent location and off-season rates.
During the reservation and check-in process, both Jessica and Marie were kind and professional, and anytime during my stay that I had a question, the staff were very helpful. I was able to park right in front of my room which was convenient. When I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised. It was much bigger than I expected and appeared to have been recently renovated. It was clean and well-appointed with features which made my longer stay more enjoyable. For example, the TV and mini fridge were bigger than most places I’ve stayed at in the area. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean.
A special shout out to the cleaning crew. On days that I opted out of having my room cleaned, they gave me fresh towels and coffee pods, and emptied my trash cans. It was much appreciated. And a big thank you to another employee, Jason, who helped me out various times during my stay, and went above and beyond in terms of customer service.
All in all my experience at the Bay Front Inn was positive. It’s a motel that’s been in town for decades. So is everything shiny new and perfect? No. But as someone who has stayed at probably a dozen motels and hotels in the area, I can assure you that for the price, the location, the free parking, the newly renovated room that I was in and the helpful staff, I found the Bay Front Inn to be a great deal and I’ll be back!
