Open only in summer. Beautiful Campground with plenty of old growth and views of Alpine mountains here and there. There are three or four sites right along the Sauk River. A couple of sites are kind of close to the Mountain Loop Highway, which would be a dusty spot to camp, but overall, each spot is nicely secluded in a well maintained Campground. The drive-in on the Mountain Loop Highway is very bumpy, with lots of potholes. Be prepared to drive slow.

7.5/10! Great campsite! If you want to be next to the water pick number 12 &13. We picked campsite 20 which is not far and not too close to water. The only thing is the drive if you have a truck or off road car then this is perfect for you. I will probably not come back till the roads are better because there’s so much deep potholes took us 40- 50 mins drive on the rough road because we have a mini suv. The water is really nice (very cold water not swimmable) take note to bring insect repellent this campsite got more insects (mosquitoes and spiders) than other campgrounds we’ve been through.

We stopped to check out the camp spots for a future trip. It definitely made our list. It looked like all the spots there were great spots. Clean , well maintained, close to river, bear boxes and small fire pits.
