As a person who visits and makes purchases many times a year from this store. I looked over as I was passing by and saw the store inside had baloons and a lot of people. So, I turned around in excitement. I get inside, stand in line, for about 15 minutes, only to be asked if I am trying to sell something. The lady did not ask the person in front or behind me. By observation, I was the only white man in the store. I stated, "No." Then I was asked why I was there, "Um, to see about the free gift with purchase." I was then told I could not participate in this event as I was not of the culture or of the ethnic background. I said, "I am pretty sure that is a racist remark and an assumption that I am or do not have friends or family that participate in Diwali." Then said, "I will from now on take my money elsewhere." I may be just a white man, doesn't mean I am not giving my best friend and his wife a gift of gold for Diwali. It also doesn't give her the right to treat me in this manner. Your website does not state this event is by race or religion only. It states, "Free gift with purchase exceeding $1000." And the gold bars I was interested in now will unfortunately be purchased online. Even with this rude act, the light will still shine bright for me and my family.
FYI- Here are a few photo of my wife, our two boys and I at our best friends wedding. Don't judge a book by its cover!!!
