Absolutely gorgeous place to visit all-year-round. Just a few miles from cities like Maple Valley, Renton, Kent and Fairwood, this beautiful riverview is within walking distance of the scenic Cedar River Trail. There's a stunning canyon right at the riverview and you can walk right into the river if you want (the current is VERY strong most of the year, and freezing), and on quieter mornings you can see hawks and even a beautiful bald eagle or two. I've personally never seen any fish but I see someone fishing just about every time I stop by. An easy must-see detour, but also a great place to set a camping chair and read a book or something. Also a great place for kids (and adults) who like rocks and/or sand, as this "beach" has plenty of both (there's a stretch of meandering river here that forms a little slow-current "Beach" with sand). Also some great mossy shots! (I didn't take pics of the "beach" area, which btw depending on the season may be completely submerged by a heavy river).
-the parking lot is gravel, after the downhill paved road. Room for about 10 or less cars -no bathrooms besides a portable toilet. Closest public restroom is probably Starbucks a couple miles west on 169. -early mornings and late evenings are a no-go, since someone at some point closes the gate to the parking lot. -Behind the parking lot and walking toward the Maple Valley Highway/169 will get you to the Cedar River Trail, which is fully paved. -Since the road is so close to this destination, at times some loud cars can disturb the peace but overall, there is some tranquility here for sure. -water here is pretty clear but still wouldn't drink it

Really nice swimming hole for the family. Mellow and quiet environment. Not crowded in summer. Hope to be back again.
Some rapids so a good place for inner tubing.
