There are some really amazing eating establishments in #Solvang, but the best bakery, hands down, is Birkholm's Bakery & Cafe. This is a must stop while in #Solvang,CA. We were just going to split a couple of Danish pasties, then not being too hunger, got enticed by cafe food. Great choice to try the sandwiches! The owner, Thomas, took our order. Talked to him for a while and learned about the history of the town and his third generation bakery. He even too is on a quick tour that was amazing. How many owners would take the time to do this to two out of town visitors? What a nice guy and a great story talking to him. A must stop while in Solvang, CA. You will not regret stopping.

We were visiting from the central valley and remembered stopping here once before. We shared a raspberry danish and had some coffee. We sat inside due to the heat. A gentleman (Rick??) was very helpful and served coffee at our table and even asked if we'd like a refill and some to go cups. The danish was superb!

The food in this place was awesome. If this was in my route to go back home, I would go there again.
