REFUSE TO USE THIS CONTRACTOR FOR HOME WARRANTY SERVICE! Bishop Plumbing was assigned to evaluate 3 plumbing issues which was done promptly. This is the only positive thing I can report. It took a week for them to get approval from my home warranty to replace a water heater and a kitchen faucet. After approval, an appt to install was made within a week. I was informed the morning of the appt that two workers had not shown up for work and the appt was reset for the following week. I would have expected that both the water heater and the faucet had already been ordered and in by the date of the next appt, since there had already been an appt which had not been kept, it had not. On the date of this new appt, I was called and informed that there was no faucet available that day and a new one had to be ordered.
Interestingly, the 50 gal water heater was also not in. I was suspicious from the start about the need for a 50 gal water heater, and in checking, found I only had and had room for, a 40 gal water heater.
A couple of days wait for the order to come in turned into a week. Now, we were getting into a perilous state. 3 weeks into this claim! The faucet’s hot water had initially been the problem, as it was difficult to shut off. But now the cold water faucet was increasingly difficult to turn off. I removed the handle so we were not tempted to use it. My house is a very old house and if I could not stop a leak in that faucet, water has to be shut off at the main shutoff. This means, you guessed it, no water to the toilet, shower, and bathroom faucet, either. This would make my house uninhabitable and I would have needed to stay in a motel.
I am 3 weeks into this claim and am getting angry. A new faucet through Amazon would have taken 2 days, but they had to order the cheapest one through Home Depot. I called the home warranty company. I could cash out this claim and start over with a new plumber. Turns out the cash out would only be approximately 60 % of the cost of getting a different plumber. It becomes clear now, Bishop was the low bidder in getting the contract for the home warranty company. They are desperate for business from anyone and will undercut to get contracts any way they can. Sounds like they have great difficulty getting legitimate business which is obvious from their poor reviews. DO NOT ACCEPT THIS CONTRACTOR FOR HOME. WARRANTY SERVICE OR ANYTHING ELSE!
Our water heater went out and our home warranty sent Bishops Plumbing
They came out promptly and on time to check what was going on. We needed a new hot water heater, the technician (who I forgot to get the name of) took photos and sent them to the warranty company for approval.
Our valve that led water to the unit wouldn't close all the way, so another person (yhr owner) came out right away to remove the valve to stop the leaking so we could use the cold water at least. (We had to turn it off at the main due to the leaking, they took care of this right away)
We did have to wait for the install due to warranty company needing to order the water heater, but that was not a delay with this company.
Bishops plumbing was prompt to answer phone calls and took care of us right away. Their receptionist was nice, and took care of everything right away. The owner came out to fix the pipe valve, and was prompt and considerate.
Their technician who installed the water heater was Michael, and he was fantastic. Personable, professional, kind and considerate. He had the same tech who came out to take photos with him, and he was again helpful and nice.
They explained the warranty for the work, and the warranty on the unit itself.
Good service, professional and considerate. I would not hesitate to use them again.
