Very good restaurant with very yummy food. The ambiance is amazing. The food uses very fresh ingredients and is very flavorful. Service is top notch.
Second time visiting, and this time left a bit disappointed with service. 8 of us were crammed in a table that was obviously meant for 6 and even though we had a reservation, we were not sited for close to 30 minutes past our reservation time. You would think that they could have arrange the sitting strategically to allow 2 tables of 4 next to each other to be available for a party of 8 with reservations. Two chairs were slender cheap metal and they were between the nicer wooden chairs, a obvious indication that the table was meant for 6 and not 8.
I asked if there was anything they could do, there wasn't. I mentioned that we tend to order a lot of food, and it was obvious we would run into a problem. They assured me that dishes would be spaced out and we would not be crowded.
Two appetizers came right away and the table was full. Three of us communicated again the importance of not bringing all the food at once, two spoke mandarin with the staff, they assure us it would be slowed down. A few minutes later a 3rd plate came out, so it is not a language barrier issue as it was communicated in 2 languages.
Without asking, the bill was brought to the table. We inquire about dessert as none was offered. The staff mentioned they went about telling people last call. I am certain that all 8 of us would not have missed that warning. To boot, service was added to the bill.
Overall it made the evening experience a little less enjoyable. Not sure if my opinion of the food was also affected by the experience, but IMO, the taste and quality of the food was better last time we visited. I'm disappointed as I've been wanting to come back and visit, but after last evening I am not in a rush to return.
I can see why they lost their Michelin star and did not even qualify for a bib gourmand.
