This is a great place to go during the spring or after it has recently rained. We did and it was sure night and day from visiting in the summer when everything is dry as a bone. If you have bad knees or don't like the climb, this isn't the hike for you. Make sure to bring water shoes, as you will eventually need to tres through water.
Dogs are allowed, but unless you have an athletic dog that can jump HIGH, you will end up having to carry your fur animal up some steep rocks if you want to make it through the end. Either small dogs or XL dogs will do fine ! I had to lift my husky Shepard mix everywhere.
Small children can do this hike fine, but if you have anyone who can't handle hughts, steep slopes, or inclines it's better if they stay behind.
Great hike. There is a trail alongside the creek but it’s also possible to hike the creek itself almost the whole way up. It takes a little longer but it’s fun to climb. There are climbing portions on the trail as well. From the start of the trailhead to the waterfall, it’s about 1-2 hrs. Although the way to the trailhead from the parking lot is about the same length of the trail itself.
