Blazing Saddles provides high-quality bikes, and the staff are friendly and offer clear explanations to make the rental process easy. Although the rates aren’t cheap, the experience is definitely worth the money.
One of the best parts is being able to ride over to the opposite side of the Golden Gate Bridge. You can choose to ride back, which isn’t too difficult if you rent an e-bike, or take the ferry back for a more relaxed return. It’s a fantastic way to explore the iconic Golden Gate and enjoy the scenic views.

I’ve been to San Francisco several times over the years but I never rode a bike across Golden Gate Bridge. I Googled bike rental and a blog post from Blazing Saddles came up. It was so detailed that I thought that it would be a great place to rent bikes for the adventure. We both chose electric bikes. I have only used one once ever in my life so at first I thought of not getting one and just going with the challenge thinking that electric bikes were cheating. Haha. Especially with the hills and wind, I am SO glad that I rented an e-bike! It takes the edge off and the cycling was still a challenge. We were shown a video, given a map and instruction to where the path began and fitted for the helmet and bike with a short test ride. The company is so streamlined and runs like a well-oiled machine. The staff were all so friendly. I can’t wait to rent a bike again on a return visit!
Edited to add that I returned for another ride on a beautiful day in SFO so I had to add my photos and videos. Plus, there is an excellent airline discount now. Greatly appreciated!
