This is the least qualified eye doctor I have ever been to.
For some context, I had to repeat grades in school due to my eye sight, I was mistaken for being slow in grade-school and had to repeat kindergarten, however it turns out it was because I was legally blind (without contacts/glasses).
At 6 years old I got my first pair of glasses and could truly see for the first time.
I've had contact lenses since the age of 8, where I was prescribed a +10.00 from professional eye doctors in the Seattle-Area. I was later prescribed +9.50 on both eyes, I am now 25 and +9.50 is still how my eye doctors in Seattle prescribe me. I am farsighted, near-sighted, and have astigmatism, basically worst as it can get.
I am saying this not to complain, but to bring up the importance of a patient like me really should not be given the wrong prescription. This is not about a matter of trying to get the best prescription for reading glasses, this is basically a prescription so that I can live like a normal human. Without my correct prescription I am not legally allowed to drive, it's impossible for me to work, impossible for me to read and overall I can't function.
I visited Dr. Wendy Tran, she spent most of the time explaining to me about how I needed daily contacts, and that is what I need because it's better for me. She kept going on and on about why daily contacts are the best.
I go to the eye doctor because it's a federal law that you need a prescription to order contacts, I don't do it because i think my vision will change, i do it because I need to order more contacts.
i was not against the idea of daily contacts... and that was not the problem.
it turns out "Dr." Wendy Tran prescribed me +7.00 on one eye and 8.00 on another eye. Which for someone like me (very rare case), that is a massive difference.
Unfortunately I could not do anything because I don't have a choice. I wore the contacts for 1/2 a day and completely was upset because I had to hold my phone and computer up to my face to even read. I asked my family members to drive instead because I couldn't read the road signs.
Because of my extreme poor eyesight, my glasses are extremely bulky and provides zero peripheral vision.
I only use glasses at night for a few minutes or in the morning before putting in my contacts, the last time I've actually worn glasses was when I was 7/8 years old. But now, I had to wear them because it's a federal law that to order contacts you need a prescription, but the prescription Dr Tran gave is pointless, I can't see in them!
I then visited my old eye doctors that know what they were doing, and from those visits I found out the real reason why I was prescribed this bogus prescription and why Dr Tran spent so much time hyping up daily contacts.
Daily contacts are way more expensive, close to 500% more expensive than monthlies.
Dailies do NOT come in my prescription because my prescription is so rare. There is no other logical reason why Dr Tran gave me this prescription because trying to profit from some rebate system on me ordering the most expensive contacts imaginable.
Anyhow, for someone who has seen so many eye doctors since it's been apart of my life since I was 6 years old, i've never had a bad experience until Blink Optometry. I am applaud that Dr tran is even a doctor, I don't know how someone could do this.
