I dropped off an expensive black size large polo Saint Laurent with the value of $600 two weeks ago on 8/4/24. This is my first time being at this business and when I dropped off my clothes I mentioned to JUAN that my shirt is brand new and if he can take care of it and read the tag on the clothing. He replied saying that he has been doing this for 10+ years and not to worry.
Fast forward, I return to pick up my clothes on Wednesday 8/7/24 and discover my large black polo is severely shrunk. I am in disbelief and call the business and Juan instructs me to come in to discuss. He then goes off to tell me the garment is small to begin with. I mention to him why would I buy a shirt that doesn’t fit. I show him a receipt of the shirt and the recent purchase date— it’s a brand new size large polo shirt. He proceeds to take a picture of the receipt and takes the garment to see if the fabric stretches. It does not. It is shrunk.
He explains how he cleaned the garment. He essentially puts the clothing into a machine and pushes a button and it tumble drys in the machine— that’s the issue, the garment tag clearly says do not tumble dry and to use MILD dry cleaning solution. That’s proof of negligence.
Since he lives in Vegas he asks to go to the store to confirm the measurements of the shirt because he truly feels the shirt is this size to begin with. The Saint Laurent store in Las Vegas confirms that the shirt is not the same size they sold me and confirmed that he mishandled the garment. Juan refuses to replace the shirt at the store. Juan proceeds to threaten Saint Laurent staff and tells them he has social media and lives in Vegas— whatever that means.
I call Juan on Monday 8/12/24 and he says he will not replace the shirt and takes zero accountability for mishandling the garment and shrinking it. He says to come in and “make a deal.” I am not interested in making a deal because this is not my fault. I dropped off my shirt and your business shrunk my garment. The store that the shirt was purchased confirmed that Juan is wrong.
He then mentioned he is going to review the cameras. He gets frustrated and then tells me to take him to small claims court. This is extremely unprofessional. I asked Juan why doesn’t he just file a claim with the business insurance and he stated the minimum is $2000.
I am attaching photos of the clothing tag and confirmation with the Saint Laurent store that the garment was mishandled.
I expect someone to contact me at BLUE RIBBON DRY CLEANERS. I don’t think Juan is the correct person to resolve this issue.
