We are visiting for my friend’s birthday and stayed at this hotel to go to Universal for the weekend. We stopped by the bar Saturday night for a nightcap and had our first encounter with G. G is gentleman and a scholar. From the second my friend and I arrived at the bar, he was attentive and kind and made our night the best night ever! A smile never left his face and he sure does brighten up the place. I’m coming back just for G, he hit the spot!

Beware of this hotel. It claims to be under renovations but simple things did not work properly.||We arrived after a long flight at 5 pm and our room was not ready. There were so many people waiting for their rooms that their lobby was full.||When we were in the room, for the remote to work, one had to get super close to the tv for it to turn on or turn channels. The coffee maker would make one cup and die. One would have to unplug it and replug it in. And the shower faucet was wobbly and broken. There was no shower pressure. These three things are the baseline for a hotel room. ||Although we booked for three days, after day two, we moved to another hotel. ||We booked this hotel because it was close to Universal Studios but my advice to you would be to spend a bit more money and stay at the Hilton or Sheraton. It would be worth it.

The Blvd was a nice enough hotel. The lobby and room were always clean and presentable. The hotel has a nice modern look that is welcoming. They were in the process of renovating, which didn't deter from our stay and was well communicated. The first remake, however, was half done with the clothes from one bed being tossed on the other and that bed being left unmade. The shampoo dispenser was empty and never refilled during our stay; I mentioned it on departure. (We didn't need the shampoo hence why I waited.) ||The staff at the front desk readily answered questions when asked, however, did not offer up much information unprompted. I had to ask about the location of the pool and fitness room, for example. The extra fees and refubdable security deposit were the only bits of info provided during check-in. ||It also would have been nice if someone told us how best to get to Universal. The walk was closer to 20 minutes and not one I was comfortable doing with my children after dark. Otherwise, the location was nice and central to the park, Hollywood, and Burbank, and Lyfts came pretty quickly at all hours.
