Boccaccio's is a hidden gem with breathtaking lake views overlooking Westlake. My family and I went there for our New Year's Eve dinner and were blown away by the experience from start to finish.
Even though they understandably had a condensed menu for the holiday, the options did not disappoint. We started with their signature crab cakes, which were stuffed with fresh crab meat and delicately fried to a beautiful golden brown. As pasta lovers, we had to try the mushroom and spinach ravioli, which was elevated to a whole new level with the creamy sauce.
The main highlight for me was the New York steak, cooked perfectly medium-rare just as I asked. Each bite of the exceptionally tender and flavorful meat melted in my mouth. The sides were also executed impressively, from the garlic mashed potatoes to the fresh vegetables.
The highlight that tops the food is that even though there was a rather large party behind us that initially intruded our space- it turns out they were the owner's party and the owner himself came over to apologize to my family and I! He offered us a round of drinks and even commented on my family being 3 generations.
Great service, atmosphere, food & drinks. Who knew we could have lakeside dining so close to LA. Amazing everytime. Highly recommended!
