Bonaventure is not only severely lacking in proper caregiver to tenant ratio, but also in every other aspect of care offered by the facility. Understaffing has resulted in a massive reduction in quality of care given to its clients. Housekeeping is bare bones quick wipe down instead of the full dust and mop, food is always cold and inedible, and the aides they do have employed are so pushed for time they barely have time to say hello, let alone to a full check up on tenants as they should be. If you are looking for a home for mom where she will be taken care of respectfully, lovingly and responsibly, I highly recommend going elsewhere. Bonaventure may look decent during a touring, but looks are definitely deceiving.

After visiting with a family member and hearing (more than one) story regarding the paid for, yet not received benefits of staying in an assisted living home, I feel compelled to write a review for this facility on behalf of the people that live there, many of them who cannot speak for themselves. First, I notice this facility seems to have a very hard time keeping housekeeping staff. They are overworked and spread very thin. We recently found out that my family has gone weeks without housekeeping services, which they pay for, handsomely in their rent. This additional housekeeping cost is not a small amount. When confronted with the "oversight" management sent someone from maintenance to clean the rooms. You can only imagine how that turned out. It appears as though the staff is friendly (including the maintenance person) and well liked, however they are understaffed. The real problem seems to be in management and their unwillingness to actually provide the staff that can produce the service the residents pay for. I'm placing this review on behalf of my family members that are staying here. When choosing a home that provides services for loved ones unable to care for themselves, it goes without saying you hold the management of these facilities to a much higher standard than you would for a normal housing complex. Bonaventure management does not meet these high expectations.

We have a family friend we were able to help leave here because of how awful it was. She was in Assisted Living and she was rarely bathed (paying for 3x weekly and got it maybe 1x a week but they wouldn't pay for more staff and wouldn't let her pay less even though she was paying to be bathed more often) she would have the call light on for more than 10 minutes at times before anyone came to help. She talked to the Management who said it would be taken care of multiple times but it never go better and then they always happened to be busy. She felt so lonely and unclean and felt robbed. She was friends with some of the staff and even they left (the turn over rate is incredible here) because of how sketchy the company was with the resident's money and treating the residents behind closed doors and underpaying the staff. One of the Caregivers told us how scary it was at night time because there were less than 5 staff members for the entire facility at night time to take care of over 100 residents!! That is a clear safety issue. No matter what they tell you, remember that they are good at sales but not with care.
