Foundation House (FH) has been a nice home for my parents for over five years now. My rating would be higher but there are several concerns my parents are having with FH. Most recently and most egregious, my folks along with many others on the first floor, were given what is the equivalent of an eviction notice just after the first of the year. FH is planning to turn that floor into a memory-care unit in order to make more money from the facility. The FH team is trying to relocate all those affected by the plan within the building but since my folks are in a double, and there are only a few doubles in the building, they do not have a room for them. To be honest John, the Director there, is trying to get them two side-by-side singles but that still doesn't excuse them for forcing my parents from their double apartment they have called home for over five years. It remains to be seen how this all turns out. I will update this review as the situation changes.
On the bright side, the facility is nice, well maintained, and comfortable, the food is good (not great, but good), the staff is friendly, and the wait staff works hard to meet the needs of a bunch of picky eaters. There are numerous events for residents each week and my folk have been quite comfortable there.
As an addendum to this story, Foundation House modified a single apartment and a studio into a small double apartment for my folks. We had to jettison two more pieces of furniture to fit them in but they are once again settled in at Foundation House. We appreciate everything that Foundation House and John did to make this happen.
