Recently my mother injured herself, breaking her back and tearing her rotator cuff and labrum. Working for home health care, I requested that she be placed on our service.
This was the first time since working at Brookdale that I was able to see our clinicians in action. I was quite pleased with what I saw. Her team was attentive, wore complete PPE, and nearly every clinician kept in contact to schedule appointments. This is the only reason I give us a four and not a five star rating. Only one of the six member team that saw her was not as strong at this as all others were.
When we were nearing discharge, our case manager reviewed my mother’s case, and chose to keep her on services for a few more weeks as she had just had three new medications added. not being clinical myself, I was ready to discharge, not thinking this was important to monitor and that I could do it. I was pleased to see that our team watched over mom for another 2 to 3 weeks to assure that she had no adverse side effects.
I’m honored to work for a company that has strong clinicians who put patients first. I’m honored to be able to write a review that comes both from a staff member and a patient caregiver. This is a unique situation and I am proud of the work that comes out of Brookdale Home Health, currently a 4.5 star rated agency.
