My grandpa was a resident here a few months ago. Our experience was peaceful. He always was taken care of, and we never had to worry. The staff was friendly, and accommodating.

I would NOT recommend Brookdale Puyallup South. I saw no concern for the resident and all I got was their concern about money and how much they could charge you. They put together a charge list for personal care without consulting the family and when we did finally get a copy we did not agree with the $6230.00 per month personal care part of her monthly bill. My mother was there for only (7 1/2) days and they billed me $11,899.84. We did not get an itemized bill until it was time to pay the full amount. We explained that the reason for this move is that we could not afford their facility at which time Hanna Simmons Executive Director sat there in front of us to finalize our bill and added another $1,035.76 to the final amount for 7 1/2 days to be $11,899.84. At the time to pay the bill we asked for her purse that was taken from her when she arrived, we had to ask for it several times and when it did come to us her money $110.00 was missing. Can't say where it went but it was there when she arrived but not there when we finally got her purse back. While waiting outside of their facility I saw one of their resident's with his walker leave their front facility by himself and the next time I saw him he was getting ready to try and cross 5 lanes of traffic with his walker. One of their staff came out and got him before he could step off of the curb and escorted him back to their facility. I got photos that I'm sharing with Brookdale. Executive Director Hanna Simmons just blew it off as no big deal when I shared the photos with her. She was aware of this incident but showed no concern about it to us in our meeting. I will share them with D.S.H.S. where I have submitted an official complaint on Brookdale. No compassion here it's just all about the money. This review is being submitted after meeting with their Executive Director Hanna Simmons with no resolution.

My grandfather had lived at Puyallup South for quite a while. The staff were always happy to bring him a hot cup of coffee and reminisce with his photo albums. The entire team made his last days loving and displayed much support from Hattie and her team. A huge thank you to you all!!!
