Outstanding example of what “Funeral Professionalism” is about. The conglomerates need to go back to “square one” and focus on what’s really important: “SERVICE” before profit! I speak from 60 years of funeral service association and know from that experience.
Thanks again Ron!

Mr. Brown is such an amazing person. He has made the process of dealing with our stillbirth son a little easier. There needs to be more people like him in this world.

When my sister’s son was stillborn, everyone was and still is devastated. How do you lay to rest the dream of life that was thought to be a sure thing? Through the birth of her son, through all of the pain and heartache, she was shocked to learn that the hospital no-longer processes remains of stillborn babies. Her first stillbirth son was thoughtfully cremated and delivered to her in a beautifully-crafted urn. How could this be? After receiving a call from the hospital stating that she needs to arrange pickup of her son, she was further shocked to learn that local funeral homes were charging $1700. She would pay the same price for her son that weighed about 1lb as a grown person’s cremation would cost. Disgusted and distraught, I began searching for another way. $1700 for her precious boy to be delivered to her in a box?! How?! It’s so wrong. Shortly after she first called the expensive homes, she heard about Brown’s Funeral Home. She spoke with a caring and kind gentleman who didn’t (as others did) awkwardly tell her “sorry that’s how it is” or “maybe my director would let us do it cheaper… I’ll ask…” She was met with a story akin to hers. The man she spoke to told her that his parents’ first born was stillborn. They vowed to never charge cremation fees for a baby stillborn. All these years and this kind man upheld the same values. Thank you. Thank you for setting yourselves apart from others. Thank you for your grace. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping her in a way that I never could. You made all the difference and I’ll never forget it; I know she will never forget it either.
