Best places for ATV ride here, but don’t go to far, it’s the border. Our ATV loss power and I had to hike out and night. But it’s really beautiful at night.

Whether you're riding your dirt bikes camping or even out shooting photos like me, these dunes are a huge must. It is located just before you get to Yuma, and just past El Centro 8 east is the way to go. Just gotta pay attention during peak season because it can get crazy there. The views are breathe taking and I would highly recommend you going there. I've been shooting photos there for years, even teaching a few photography workshops out there. There's not much in the way of food there, so be sure to pack a lunch, and it gets very hot in the summer with 0 shade. If you wanna see more, give this page a follow or check out my Instagram at @Manbehindalens

This was my first time sand camping and it was such a great time. Buttercup's dunes are gorgeous and there's so many routes to take. Riding along the U.S./Mexican border is a little surreal. The dune community is super special, you're literally never alone or have to worry about being stranded. People are always willing to lend a helping hand. Can't wait to go back.
