Took a family vacation here with high expectations… that were promptly squashed the second we walked into our room and there were dead bugs and dirty furniture. But hey, maybe the food is good? WRONG. For somewhere claiming to be a premium hotel, our stay was anything but the premium price we paid. Cold room service, low quality food, room didn’t get cleaned, menu options slim, dirty pools, none of the doors in our room fully closed, multiple times staff entered the bungalow space unprompted and walked out leaving the door open (while there is an outdoor shower), the “beach club” was absolutely not safe for a family, we found broken glass, a fishing line and lure and pieces of metal scattered along the sand, bad service, and the worst part was they didn’t even seem to care. They asked to call us the next day upon checking out and after setting up a time, the day came and went without a call. I suppose an event space is what they do best, it is a beautiful location after all (if you like turf).

I was absolutely blown away by the level of care and attention the resort manager provided after I had previously shared some feedback. My initial stay had a few areas for improvement, and I was impressed that the manager took my feedback seriously and acted on it. I look forward to staying again at Calamigos Ranch and will update more about my next visit!

We stayed there over the weekend, for what we paid I would expect better customer service. Overall because of the location it still was a pretty nice experience with the exception of the staff and attention to the client.
We did some shopping at the gift store, one of the things I purchased was a calamigos hat. When I returned home and pulled the hat out of the bag and noticed that the letters were pealing off. I called Calamigos and no one could connect me to the store, no one bothered to assist. I finally got an email of the store supervisor Jack, which i emailed and sent photos to and still have not heard back. Its been almost 2 months.
Its little things like that which the ranch is lacking. You are spending a lot of money and it would be nice for the staff to acknowledge you.
