Camco Inspections

DO NOT USE CAMCO INSPECTIONS. I recently hired Jim Camco to do a home inspection and he charged me $250 and looked at the home for less than 30 minutes. He barely checked anything in the house and missed several issues. His report was very short and offered no real guidance on the statue of the unit. He failed to check out the heating and air conditioning unit and missed the fact that the Heater was not functioning, was severely corroded and there was water damage near the unit. None of this was mentioned in his report. We relied on his report that everything was ok and then closed escrow. Two weeks after the close of escrow I had a professional come in to install a nest and it was determined that the unit had water damage near the heater and extensive corrosion and that the entire system was not to be used as there is a high risk of carbon monoxide being leaked. I called Jim to tell him about the issue and the fact that I was now responsible for $14,000 to replace the entire system. He stated that he thought it would be fair to refund my inspection fee in full and to email him. Once I emailed me my address of where to send the check he replied back saying that he didn't do anything wrong and he won't give me my money back. Jim Camco is a one of the worst inspectors I have ever used. As a home buyer I relied on him to thoroughly check the home and as such I will never work with him again and I suggest you don't either!!
