This camp changes lives! I see it every year! The people that leave this camp aren't the same people who walked in. Compassion, thoughtfulness and godliness are some of the greatest changes I see... Smiles are usually visible brighter too!
Camp Jonah isn't perfect, and neither are any of it's staff; but they don't pretend to be. Like I already said everybody changes here, and it's always an improvement. The staff that work do so because of the spiritual and emotional benefits, not because of money. They just want to be here.
Camp Jonah is a non profit, so money isn't spent on a whim. Yeah the building needs some maintenance and it's getting it. It's just happening over time as the Lord provides for it, not in one big remodel.
The camps are always based around the campers, this place exists for them. They're fun, active and God based. The camps are well planed to fit the age groups.
On top of all of that, Mount Adams gets a five star rating for being as beautiful as it is. Camp Jonah has a perfect view of it and an amazing Creek to sit by as you admire the might of the mountain.
Camp Jonah is a wonderful Christian children's camp. My grandchildren and I love to go there every year for Grand Camp. Then they talk about how much fun they have there every time I see them. They anticipate returning the next year.
The staff puts on a wonderful program full of fun activities. This is a great time for us to create a closer bond together and a great time for them to create lasting friendships with other children and the Camp Jonah staff.
Two of the more exciting and challenging activities are the climbing wall and the zip line. Both of these build their confidence and pride in themselves for overcoming their fear of heights.
I highly recommend signing up for one of the many camp opportunities. While you are there, take time to meet Jeff and Beki Duke and have them tell you the amazing story of Camp Jonah.
