The Cancer Support Community helps the whole family cope with the fear of a diagnosis and treatment through informed hope. I was given strength to work more effectively with my doctor. I acted like a victim until they helped me take back the steering wheel of my life. Their help and knowing I wasn't alone with my feelings by talking with other women who were experiencing the same thing improved my outlook. They also help the whole family, e.g., partners, spouses and children. The CSC has specialists who help children understand it's not their fault that mommy or daddy is ill. I could take up pages with how I've seen people affected by cancer gain a sense of control again. Truly amazing. And their services and programs are free of charge to all. I feel blessed.
