Hello,
Sean Grant did awesome job communicating the status of car repair and also the car looks great after the repair. I got it fixed on time and see pics attached. Thanks Sean and carstar team for your great work. Much appreciated 👍👏
BEWARE!
I selected this shop for fixing scratches on my car after seeing a nice user rating. It was a Friday when I visited the shop and after checking the car they mentioned that the repair will be done by Monday or Tuesday if i give the car right there which I refused since iI didn’t plan for leaving the car then. So made an appointment the following Monday. The check-in process was pretty smooth and they arranged the rental car pick up etc. But at this time they mentioned that they will call me and let me know how much time it will take for repair. All was good till now, till the day they called my car is ready for pickup. They called in the morning of monday and asked me to collect the same day otherwise the insurance can charge me extra for rental car which I found very weird. So think about getting a call at 11 am on a Monday morning and they are closed on weekend so the first weirdness is why can’t the car be released on prior Friday instead or atleast a courtesy call to inform for pickup a day prior. Made me think if there any kickbacks with the rental car company or some other incentive or it’s just plain no-respect for costumer’s time. So I took a half day from work and collected the car the same day. The whole job had insane amount of labor and technician hours which I ignored since it was all dealt under insurance. Few mins after driving the car I realized that there is a crack in the windshield. Since it was raining the crack was not evident and I missed it while taking the car ownership back from autoshop I went back to the shop asking if they knew about the crack in the windshield & they said they don’t think it was caused there. The guy took some pictures and told me that they will call back to see if they can verify if any photos or videos are there while car was in workshop but it was pretty clear from his tone that they won’t have any responsibility in this since I took the car away. Nobody called for a couples of days and when I called them back, their owner said we checked and we don’t believe it happened during the time car was at workshop and even if it did crack while the car was there this is under an exclusion which they made me sign. The talk also made me realize that the car is left outside in a big open lot for most of the times so there is a high likelihood of direct sun exposure increasing the chances of crack in the windshield
They never took any responsibility and try to empathize with the customer and upon repeated request didn’t share any evidence or photos of car when it was in their custody. Now I am left with replacing the windshield for upwards of 900$. I am pretty disappointed not only because of hassle and cost of repair but a sheer lack of empathy for customers.
TLDR; be careful and take ample pictures and videos of every part of your car before and after repair. And don’t trust these guys because the rating can sometimes be deceptive
