Every time I try to log in I am not 'recognized'. Do you not have autopay available? And, then, there's the difficulty in reaching you by phone. But most importantly, I'm still in shock over the HUGE increase in charges you listed in your latest notice. Why are we lumped into pricing with communities on the mainland? I didn't understand most of what you wrote defending your increase. It makes me think 'smoke & mirrors' wordsmithing...saying "just pay the bill and trust us". It's all so disconcerting to go from locals who seemed to care - to big corporate who seems to care only about profit. I hope you're able to address this in a logical and clear way. It seems we are paying for upgrades on the mainland and on the island? Why is it so vastly more costly? As it is, I have to buy additional filtering systems to minimize and/or remove the chlorine and poisons in the water you provide.
Review: I regret to share my disappointment with the recent actions taken by Cascadia Water. The significant increase in water rates has created an unfortunate situation where most people relying on their water service are now struggling to afford their bills. This alarming situation raises serious concerns about the accessibility and affordability of such a vital resource.
Prior to Cascadia water, our water bill was the same price every month for more than 10 years. Since they bought out Lehman brothers, water has doubled during the winter months, and now during summer months while we try to water our vegetable garden, our bill has been as high as $250/month. This is simply outrageous.
Water is a basic necessity for every individual, and it is disheartening to witness a company prioritize profit over the well-being of its customers. The exorbitant rates imposed by Cascadia Water not only place an immense burden on households but also disregard the financial challenges faced by the community at large.
While it is understandable that maintaining and providing clean water services incurs costs, it should not come at the expense of placing an unfair financial strain on individuals and families. It is my firm belief that access to safe and affordable water should be a fundamental right, rather than a luxury only available to those who can afford it.
I sincerely hope that Cascadia Water reconsiders their pricing strategy and works towards finding a more balanced approach that considers the financial well-being of their customers. It is imperative for companies like Cascadia Water to prioritize the communities they serve and ensure that access to this essential resource remains affordable for all.
