I found out about Humboldt Center For New Growth via Randee, one of the nurses, after sharing some of my own mental health struggles with her while working together in the ER. I approached it with skepticism, if I am being honest. To start, I have been diagnosed with OCD and I have severe depressive episodes. When I met Randee, I was in the midst of one of the most torrential seasons of my life and, after spending the last decade+ trying everything from EMDR to cognitive therapies and finding no real, measurable success, I was the most hopeless I have ever been. I went into this with the idea that, even if it doesn’t help, at least it won’t hurt and I was desperate for anything to make a difference for me.
My experience is that ketamine, and the supportive, experienced staff within the practice, have helped me save my life. Ketamine therapy is NOT a magic pill, the magic is in the intentions you set, in your openness to experience the process and in what and how you choose to integrate your experiences. I have found perspective that I have been chasing for years and the progress I have made in 6 weeks has unlocked potential that I never thought I was capable of reaching. I can't say enough good about my experience.
